With all the midfield injuries is it time for reece oxford to stake a claim?
With the latest news on the sanchez injury and the fact that we are low on midfielders reece oxford should be looking at this as an ideal opportunity to grab that holding midfield role. A position i think is his best.

Oxford should be in the squad . I saw him several times for the U23 over the two years and was class. But he hasn’t then gone on to produce anything consistent when out on loan.
Something is wrong with him , he was going to make an appearance last year in the Cup but picked up an ankle injury, Since then he has gone backwards and seen several other academy players leap over him.
Hate to say as I have been wanting him to succeed, but he must go now .When I watch the current games for the U23’s he does well
l attacking but is seen wanting when defending. The amount of goals the U23 have conceded is alarming but he looks to blame others..
He should be wanting that midfield slot but doesn’t have the attitude.

Oxford's contract at West Ham expires 30 June 2021.
Jaap Stam was unimpressed by him last year on loan at Reading and stopped picking him after a disastrous defeat at Norwich.
The so-called German interest has ended and he and his agent turned down a loan move to Bolton last month according to Exwesthamemployee.
His poor performances this season for the u-23s would appear to indicate he's going through the motions for his 20 grand a week.
Sullivan would dearly love to sell the prick but there's no way that will happen if his present attitude continues.

We don't really have anyone else to replace Sanchez in the "come on for the final 10-15 minutes when Noble's knackered" role, so yes I'd stick him on the bench for now.

Unfortunately were pretty much stuck with both Oxford and a lack of cover in this position until at least January.

However given there were 3 or 4 other lads from the youth team ahead of him the other night, my guess would be that this won't actually happen.

Wouldn’t he already be in the squad if he was up to it?

You would like to think that 4 Academy Players Jumping ahead of him would give him a bit of a wake up call.

Maybe the reason he was made Captain was to make him take a bit of responsibility or

Like many other young players feels he has already "made it" and is happy to sit around and pick up his alleged £20k a week wages

Grabing 10 mins at the end of a game is how you break into a team.
But you guys are right also cos he was in the checkatrade trophy team the day before macclesfield.
I would of thought he was a banker ahead of the other u23 who played.
Must not be impressing anyone. Such a waste of talent maybe he wishes he was in germany.

Unless he's injured, the fact that Coventry and Powell made it into the side ahead of him tells you all you need to know.

Well sanchez was hardly a regular starter.... so you mean grab that role on the bench and come on for 10 mins at the end??
